Remember that an abusive behavior is more than hitting the other, but in any way, it isn’t equal. Harley HAS beaten the shit out of him multiple times, yes, but she was just fighting back. In her 2001 solo, she throws him at an electronic sign, gets electrocuted and makes a fireworks factory explode with him; in Batman: Harley Quinn she beats him with a wrench and almost lets him fall from a building in construction; In Gotham City Sirens she went back to Arkham just to kill him; in Gotham Adventures #idk she kicks his ass with a typewriter; in BTAS: Harlequinade she kicks his face (literally) and also tries to kill him… but why? Because he did something to her first. They aren’t equally abusive (with each other, because Harley IS abusive— that’s another topic), she is just fighting back.
